I’m trying to get into the habit of drawing more regularly. I have been intimidated by drawing my whole adult life. It’s not something I have a huge talent for, and thats ok. What I love about drawing in this context is that perfection is besides the point. I use these drawings to catalogue my ideas. They need to show the silhouette and mark out the seams. They don’t need to be striking, just a means to create striking clothes.
So I’ve been scouring pinterest for helpful drawings to draw inspiration from. I find I’m particularly drawn to old sewing patterns and paintings by Erte and other artists working in the 1920’s.
Incidentally I really need to figure out how to make myself some man-cage-paniers.
